Re: Housewarming gift?
I've done plants or a bottle of wine. I gave another couple a wrought iron candle holder with candles in it.

Housewarming gift?
I like the candle idea.. As long as you know what scents they like.

Housewarming gift?
I second the Home Depot/Lowes giftcard. As a new homeowner, I'd love it!

Re: Housewarming gift?
What about making cookies or some kind of dessert and put it on a nice serving piece as a gift. That along with wine.

Re: Housewarming gift?
You can't go wrong with home depot/Lowes. Maybe make a basket with local menus & some gift cards.

Gift card to Home Depot, BBB, or Pier 1 always works.

Re: Housewarming gift?
If I just wanted to buy something little - like, in your case, because it is for a co-worker and you are already bringing a bottle of wine - I usually buy one of those electric, one push of a button wine bottle openers. They are amazing and not a lot of money (range from 25 bucks to 40 bucks). They sell them at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. I've given them before and people always say it is a good gift, something different. It's great because you just put the opener on the cork, line it up, and push a button - bam! open! I've never been able to open a bottle of wine the old fashioned way on my own, I always screw it up! So, with this, it is open in ten seconds with NO effort whatsoever.

Re: Housewarming gift?
I feel weird giving people gift cards (which is basically cash) for a housewarming. Idk I think it all gets a little out of hand with the gift giving. I think wine or a plant or something is fine.

Re: Housewarming gift?
I like the Home Depot gift card idea. I also got my sister in law a "New Home" christmas ornament... though it was closer to Christmas time.
