I heard from a friend that works at an ob office that they will no longer have a maternity floor as of Nov?? Is this true?

I did not here an official date. But I know its true. North Shore is working on there smaller hospitals to specialize in things. Its all part of NS-Glen Cove turning into a ambulatory surgery and no in patients. They are closing down L&D at Plainview to focus on Manhasset and LIJ L&D units, and they are opening a Stand alone ER in Massapequa. All part of there revamping things.

my friend is a nurse in that department and as of September 1st she is transferred to Southside, so it's definitely happening soon- but she doesn't even know an exact date

Wow this stinks. I was suppose to delivery there since that is my doctor's primary hospital. My due date is Nov 9th.

My ob delivers there (and good Sam) and told me its happening in September. I was already scheduled to deliver at good Sam so don't have to worry thank goodness!
