Nanny Share?
Does anyone participate in a nanny share? I work part-time and need to find care, but I'm finding it hard to find someone for just 2 long days. It seems most experienced care providers are interested in full time work. Just curious if a nanny share might be an option and if so, anyone interested?? I'm in Great Neck.

Re: Nanny Share?
We're doing a nanny share, but it just happened to work out with our circumstances. We had someone 2.5 days per week and then we knew someone who wanted a nanny three days a week so we have figured out a way for us both to get coverage and the nanny to have a full schedule. She's with us Tues/thurs and the other family MWF.
I'd suggest looking at college campuses - you may be able to find a student who wants to fill their down time with some work??

Re: Nanny Share?
We tried this breifly with a neighbor. My neighbor didn't need her nanny full time so we had her 2 days a week when I went to work. Would have been fine except my neighbor would assume she could just drop her 2 kids off at my house if she needed to do something. Yeah no! I had 3 little ones. 2, 4 and 5. Then you want to add your 3 and 4 year old to the mix. The Nanny was in her late 60's. I was not comfortable with that so my kids went back to daycare.
If you have a strict schedule and maybe aren't friends with the the person you are sharing with would work out better!

Re: Nanny Share?
I'm looking on care.com, sittercity.com and tried the local parks. We have someone temporarily but I'm not thrilled with her. It's been such a frustrating experience - I almost just want to quit my job at this point. Thanks for the feeback!

Does your town have a facebook or yahoo mom's group? That's how my area advertises nanny shares.

The girl who watches our twins is available on Monday and Fridays come the fall. Would that work for you? She is absolutely wonderful!
