Sending in all of those supplies

DC's list was loooong! With stuff generic for grade than more teacher specific items. $99 at Target later I have zip lock bags, construction paper, wipes, 8 glue sticks etc etc etc.

I doubt it's all going to fit in his backpack. How do you send it all in? Do you send it all in on the 1st day.

I was really shocked at all he needed.

I sent everything over the course of a few days. It wasn't a problem.

I know we were asked to send it the first day. But $100 worth of stuff is a lot. We got ours through the pta and it was only $40. I think if it is that much maybe over 2 days?

Call the main office. They may allow you to drop the supplies off prior to the first day. The district I teach in does this. My home district has a supply drop off day.

Check with your district, we have a "supply drop off day" that is usually a few days before the start of school.

Re: Sending in all of those supplies

Today was my kid's first day of school. We had meet and great, so I put what I could in backpacks and then had the overflow in a plastic bag. I carried the bag and helped them put everything on their desks. The few items that I didn't have, I told the teacher I'd send it tomorrow or on Monday.

Next year, I'm definitely doing the box supplies from the PTA. So much easier and less hassle. There were a couple of things on the list that I just could not find and ended up going to 3 stores to look for them.

Sending in all of those supplies

This is my first year doing this, DS is starting Kindergarten. We were told to drop it off during orientation. Not sure what's the drop off if a student was already enrolled in school.

Re: Sending in all of those supplies

In K, DD had an orientation day and that's when supplies were dropped off. This year in 1, it's back to school as normal, but the supply list has greatly diminished over last year and everything easily fits in her backpack.

Our school has a company that will supply all the school supplies you pay for it during the school year and they send it home last day of school in a box with a handle.

Makes life sooo easy!

Before we moved I would send in over a few days.

Re: Sending in all of those supplies

Definitely send it over over the course of the first week. They don't need all of those things right away.
