Why do you run?
I used to run for weight loss, but now I'm not looking to lose weight anymore. 5lbs would be nice, but I don't need to really lose it. Why do you run? Lately it's just stress relief and to be able to indulge on foods I enjoy Iike dense breads, pasta, wine and cheese. This summer was awful, lots of illness in the family so I gave the road a nice beating. It helped me cope. What about you?

Re: Why do you run?
--It's challenging & I like to set goals to keep me motivated (like finally committing to training for a race, I wouldn't have been so dedicating to waking EARLY to ensure I got the work out in) --wt loss!!!! I'm in my best shape now, even after 2 kids! Plus it keeps my eating on track, because long runs are no fun bloated. --stress relief, me time, mind clearing! --I eat what I want & don't feel guilty.

Re: Why do you run?
I love the feeling of being all sweaty & exhausted & relaxed after a hard run. It's an addictive feeling.
It made me healthier... I slept better, it regulated my hormones, my appetite, lowered my resting pulse rate, blood pressure, everything.
It helped me lose weight & keep it off.
I found it fun to challenge myself every time to do better.... run faster, run farther, meet new goals. I felt good about myself.
Races are fun, so being able to do them & have a good result meant I'd have to train & run regularly.
It helped me de-stress after a stressful day, and I could just think about whatever I wanted during a run without anyone interrupting me.
Writing this out is really making me want to start running again.... I haven't run regularly in over 9 months due to tendonitis in my foot & then pregnancy.... I can't wait to start again!!!!!!

Re: Why do you run?
Many reasons!
-I get to be alone -but I can also do it with my kids -you can do it anywhere...all you need is a pair of sneakers -to keep weight off -I am relatively "good" at it...it comes easy for me as compared to other exercises. -I am stubborn and competitive..I push myself
Oh and for beer, wine, ice cream and brownies

Why do you run?
1. Stress relief 2. ENDORPHINS!! Need I say more. I just love the way it makes me feel. 3. To think. It's great for that. And problem solve. 4. It's helped me get in the best shape of my life. I feel great mentally and physically! 5. Who doesn't love a runners body. I think I'm more toned than I have ever been in my entire life. 6. I love creating challenging goals for myself and then accomplishing them. 7. Keep myself healthy and my heart healthy. 8. It gives me energy and I sleep better at night. 9. Even though I don't want to lose weight it is definitely the most effective way. I feel like I don't even have to put any effort into maintaining weight. With running it just happens. I do eat right too. But there's no fear of gaining weight. I do have to say though that with all the other benefits, weight loss is just an added perk. This is not the main reason I run. 10. I find races to be a lot of fun.
Oh man I can go on and on. I just love running.
