DOE ? -30 Credits Above Master's
I've asked my HR admin who told me to check with my union rep, but figured I'd ask here too. I'm at a unionized charter-I believe my school approves our credits.
I'm trying to reach my 30 credits above my Master's to get the salary differential. I have 17 already from my Literacy certification.
I took an online class from Adelphi through NYSUT in the spring which is part of the SWD certification. I'm finishing up another online class from Mercy through NYSUT which ins part of the Early Childhood certification.
My HR admin sent me this from the DOE website (I think). It seems like my two online classes meet the exception because they are accredited institutions and the programs are NYSED approved.
"Only distance education (online) programs that are offered by accredited New York State institutions and approved by NYSED are accepted. An individual who enrolls in a program offered in New York that is not NYSED-approved may not be eligible for state or federal student financial aid and thus cannot use that program to qualify for New York State teacher certification or other professional licensure or New York City salary increments."
Does it seem like my classes would count toward the differential? TIA
