UPDATE pregnant? ectopic? whats going on??

UPDATE: my dr called at 8am telling me to take the day off and get an ultrasound ASAP to rule out ectopic. My beta doubled but progesterone was still low (under 2)
I got an emergency visit and the dr said it looks to be 5 weeks and he saw everything he should at that point (sac yolk and embryo all in the uterus yay!)
I told him my numbers and he said he's not concerned with progesterone as long as the betas increase as they are. I'm going back in 10 days for another sono to hopefully see/hear a heartbeat.
My doctor called and said I can start progesterone if I want but she has never seen a pregnancy survive with such low levels. She said to make the ultrasound appt and if I experience bleeding or cramping before then to call.
I'm a little annoyed with her pessimistic view (my first appt last week she said i had already miscarried and was obviously wrong). im going to start progesterone though just to be safe


hi ladies - so to follow up from yesterdays post i got more info from the doctors today and my new question is, will your betas double if you have an ectopic?

here is the situation:
monday my beta was 641 but my progesterone was 1.4
yesterday (48 hours later) my beta was 1258 but they didnt order a progesterone test (yes i am FUMING about this but nothing can be done at this point).
the doctor has me going for beta & progesterone testing tomorrow and will give me the results monday

i hate that i have to wait all weekend for many reasons.
im concerned bc if my progesterone is still low, i know supplements can help and getting them tomorrow vs monday can make a difference.
and im also concerned that it is ectopic which can also be dangerous if it goes too long

so aside from my main question of - do betas double in an ectopic? if anyone has any advice, or experience or anything please share

sorry to ramble, but im excited, scared, nervous, impatient, etc

my betas did not double with ectopic.

also, from what I understand... a progesterone below 5 is not considered a viable pregnancy, as in not even progesterone supplements could help. i'm really sorry you're in such a state of unknown. i know how much it sucks.

I wonder with how your beta's are doubling, perhaps the progesterone was wrong? It happens.

My beta doubled, tripled and quadrupled with my ectopic. Then they only rose by like 20. Next beta stayed the same. Next dropped like 40 and back up another 100.

We knew then it was ectopic.

I've seen betas continue to rise even triple during ectopic pregnancies. With that said they may have made an error with your P4 so I suggest in case they didn't to call your doctor and ask for a script of Progesterone suppositories or in oil just to increase your progesterone if it is really 1.4.

You won't know ectopic or not until you have a sonogram and if they don't see a gestational sac (usually @ 5 weeks).
In the mean time try to get some progesterone to help get that number up.
