moving with a dog
We are in the mist of purchasing a house and i am not looking forward to moving with my lil girl....she is a chihuahua 3 years old. she is for the most point trained to go outside but during the day we do live a pad in the kitchen which she uses. When we go to other people house she makes on there floor or carpet....how do you get a dog use to a new house? Do I have to train her all over again??

Re: moving with a dog
I have a boy that likes to mark. After we moved, I watched him very carefully for a little while and let him out frequently. When I saw him potty outside I praised him. Not sure if I even needed to do all that, but it made me feel better. It was no problem, not sure it was from my efforts or he would have been that way anyway. He was fine but every dog is different. Can't hurt to take the extra precautions in my opinion.

Re: moving with a dog
Is she crate trained? That's the only thing that ever worked for training ours. They are really good about it now- if they have an accident, you know something is wrong.
ETA: And we recently moved, too. We did make sure to just watch them carefully- my boy likes to mark, too, but he didn't even attempt it in the new place. Strange!
