When did you start making your DD wear a bra?
My DD is in 5th grade and noticed the very beginnings of development. She is still wearing tank tops and as her mom I see the tiny breast buds. In the cooler weather she will be more covered up so I am unsure if I should run out and get her anything yet.
How soon did you make your DD wear something?

I started to wear one in 5th grade. It was more like a sports bra than an actual bra, but I would take her for a fitting.

When did you start making your DD wear a bra?
My dd started in 4th grade, but mostly wearing the sports type. Almost like a tank top with a built in bra. At the end of 5th and going into 6th, she started wearing more real type bras. Now shes in 8th and wants to shop at victorias secret for bras!
Her period is likely about a year away from the beginning of breast buds. My dd got hers at the very end of 5th grade.

Wow, so early for a period. I had itty bitty boobs in 5th grade but I actually didn't get my period until the spring of 7th grade.

Girls are getting them much younger these days. I didn't get mine until 13, she was 11. And she is extremely tall and slender!

My mom was 16 when she got hers and I was 12.5.

I have nothing constructive to add, other then that my daughter is 6 and just reading this conversation is giving me an anxiety attach!

Yikes. I won't ever be buying my daughter thongs. That goes in the "if you want it, get a job and buy it" category for me.

Me too. Then she got a babysitting job and bought one on her own. She says they are just for leggings because she doesn't like her underwear lines to show. No one cared back in school when I wore leggings?

I have three DS, so I'm not much help. My neighbor's 4th grade DD told us yesterday some of the girls in her class started wearing bras in third grade.
