Needier Twin

My boys are almost 3 months and one of them is so needy. He wants to be held all. the. time! It's not gas or anything because the second my hands touch him to pick him up he quiets down immediately. He used to love his swing, but now he won't even sit in it anymore. He freaks when he sees me walk out of the room for a minute. I don't know what to do. His other twin is so mellow and just hangs out wherever I put him, but I want to give him some attention too! I'm afraid I'm spoiling this little guy... it's even gotten to the point that I have to BF the other baby in a separate room so he doesn't have to listen to blood curdling screams every single time I hold or feed him. Has anyone had experience with this? Is it a phase?

Re: Needier Twin

i think it might just be a personality trait and not so much a phase (but it will get easier as they get a bit bigger and chill out a bit)... I have the same deal with my twins, one needs to be held or carried all the time, is wayyy crankier when teething etc and it is just who he is. But I'm just thankful that I have one needy and one mellow because I only have so many arms and they complement each other very well.

good luck, I know this is a tough one!

Re: Needier Twin

See now my twins (7 months now) have decided to trade who is needier. AT first my girl was chill and my boy was SUPER cranky needy...then the tables turned when teething began. I swear they change each day and discuss in the morning who is going to be the whiny heiny for the day...thankfully it is rare to be the same day. But it would be really nice if they could both be chill at the same time...ahh wish upon a star

twins aren't about equality in a day - they swap personalities and what they need every few months

one of my twins loved to be held- at first I thought it had to be me but it can be anyone- he is just a cuddler- and he learned to got o everyone - my other twin did not ever want to be held but he is a little skittish of new people so then he wants to be hels

over time they each get what they need from you so don't stress over holding one more than the other - it just sort of works itself out- I know easier to say when you are past that stage- but do you have the tandem pillow- could you have the other twin just lay next to you when you nurse

but any twin mom knows there are times that one just has to cry - sometimes you just can't help it - and don't let a singleton parent even of a few kids tell you different - it is different having multiples the same age

Oh so this is normal behavior?? lol

I really can't stand the "you're spoiling him" and "wow, he's so spoiled!" comments anymore. I'm happy to hear that it's just something that twin mommies have to deal with.

My boys are almost 2 and my younger one (by 3 min) is still the one that needs cuddling and is always hanging on me (since the day he was born!) while his older brother couldn't care less where I am-lol. They're just 2 completely different personalities!
