We need to liven this board up!
No one has posted in 24 days! We need to spice things up around here. Anyone have any fun fall activities/trips planned? Anyone besides me drinking gluttonous amounts of pumpkin beer? The weather has been beautiful, hope everyone is enjoying it while it lasts!

I agree! I'm so happy the weather has cooled a bit (thought it's supposed to warm up the next couple of days). Looking forward to our vacay in November and spending time with family in friends over the holidays. I love the festive season. Oh! And Halloween! LOVE me some Halloween!

Re: We need to liven this board up!
I just got back from Ireland visiting my family. DH & I are heading to Richmond VA this weekend to look at some houses. We may move up there.

Re: We need to liven this board up!
We had been thinking about a long weekend somewhere in late October, but my life took a different path recently...I was diagnosed with breast cancer a month ago (I found a lump and the ball just kind of rolled from there...sono and mammo, biopsy, diagnosis, then doctors visits galore...first and second opinions, scans scans scans, genetic testing, etc). I've chosen an oncologist and start my chemo on Monday, which I'm actually excited about. I just want to start getting this fkn tumor shrunk. Surgery will occur after chemo is done - so sometime in February, ideally. It's going to be a battle, but cancer really fcked with the wrong person here, so I guess it has a death wish!
What I can look forward to: - chemo is every two weeks, so the second week is one where I will likely feel pretty good. I've spoken with others who are far older than me (I'm 32) and had the same chemo and they've assured me that the second week is good. Not to overdo it, but that I will feel good. - So, the doctor adjusted my chemo schedule so my "good" week would fall during the Pearl Jam shows in Brooklyn. - My "good" weeks also include Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. I won't overdo it, but it is good to know I'll feel okay for those days. - The easiest decision I've made so far is when the doctors have asked about freezing eggs. I was all "That's a big fat NO!" - I may dress as Britney Spears during her 2007 meltdown for Halloween if I feel up to it. (I will definitely be losing my hair due to chemo) - Maybe I'll get some new boobs out of this. - Now I have some time to really think and plan our Ireland vacation next year.

PearlJamChick-- I am glad you will be well for the holidays!
And for an added bonus-- you are starting chemo during breast cancer awareness month, so all that pink you'll see everywhere is for YOU!

I am very sorry to hear this but i think it's pretty clear that cancer picked on the WRONG person and you are going to kick some serious butt. And i'm very glad the holidays will be during your good weeks.
Sound like everyone has fun plans coming up. I'm just enjoying the cooler weather (well, except for THIS week...), eating/drinking as much pumpkin stuff as i can find, enjoying some long walks with DH and our pup, shopping til i drop, and looking forward to the holidays

Re: We need to liven this board up!
PearlJamChick...sending hugs & prayers!!! My SIL is going through the same thing...she had Chemo...and is on her last week of radiation..finally...she's been doing really well through all or it and she is 49 and has 3 kids and my brother to take care of..haha...so you will kick ass and take names no doubt!!!!
As for me...I am a Federal employee who has to work (essential personnel) but has no promise of when I will get paid again...so just enjoying as many free outdoor activities as we can!!! Hoping DH finds work down here soon (moved OOS for my awesome non-paying job..haha) so we can live it up like we used to!!!
