Does anyone teach K in the DOE?
At what level should kids be reading at, at the end of the year?

Does anyone teacher K in the DOE?
I do! Level E is what they'd "like". The majority finish at a level c though.

When my daughter finished K, I was told she was E. When she was tested this year in 1st, she leveled at C. I am thinking she never was an E to begin with.

Most kids regress by a level or 2. If she was an E, she should be back there soon after having reading instruction everyday now for a month.

This is interesting. Is it standard or by the method used ? My district says the want them at a level D when they leave kindergarten.
