Progesterone
Hi all! I am currently 6 weeks 2 days with my first. I have had small amount of spotting for the past 2 days. Went to RE yesterday for blood/sono. Sono went well :fetal pole and sac with visualization of heartbeat. My progesterone levels went from 23 to 16 in the past two weeks. I spoke with the NP and she said over 10 is what they are looking for, but if I would like, she would prescribe me progesterone suppositories. Should I go ahead and take them to be safe? TIA

Re: Progesterone
take them
I had blood drawn and my progesterone was 1.4 - yes, 1.4 not 14. my doctor assumed i already miscarried and retested me 4 days later...my levels increased to 1.8. no where near where they should be for being 5 weeks pregnant. she told me i could start suppositories if i want but that with numbers so low its doubtful it will help - but she said it cannot hurt to take them. i started 200mg suppositories and im currently 9 weeks pregnant. we have a heartbeat and everything. its still early but i pray everything is ok. after seeing the heartbeat my dr is treating this as a normal pregnancy and keeping me on the progesterone until 12 weeks just to be safe.
i am a big advocate for progesterone. FM me if you have questions

Re: Progesterone
I would say take it too. It can't hurt. If you're not comfortable with taking anything, the least I would do is ask to go back again in 2 or 3 days to check your progesterone levels. Then you can decide if you need to take the suppositories or not.

Progesterone
If they felt like I needed them I would definitely take them. They will not harm the baby. Any woman who has ever done IVF has needed to take some form of progesterone. I had to stick myself with PIO shots for 7 weeks and it was worth it!

Yes. There's really no downside to taking progesterone.

This and I would say bring a fresh pad for a mid day change. And you might experience slightly greater MS symptoms
