OMG.... I am having twins!
So, I just got the shock of my life last Monday at my sonogram. Walked in, thinking "lalala.....how nice, my first sonogram for probably my last baby." I nearly died when she said it was TWINS! So unbelievably shocked, I can't even explain. DH literally asked her if she was joking! There are no twins at all anywhere in my family and we did not do any fertility treatments and I only have only ovary!!!!
I am feeling a little overwhelmed, but mainly because I already have a 4 yo DD and a 2 yo DS. How am I going to manage 4 kids under 5? In addition, I am a FTWM, that will probably have to end, but then the $$$$ piece scares me.
I would love to hear any and all advice about twins, particularly if your twins were NOT from your first pregnancy. give it to me... the good, the bad, the ugly! :)
thanks and looking forward to chatting with all of you!
p.s. I really am excited and happy, just still shell-shocked! lol

OMG.... I am having twins!
congrats - I had twins when we went for second and last child - instead we got two more - no history of twins in the family either - I had three under 2 when they were born
it seemed exponentially harder having two more but in the middle not that bad - take any offers for free stuff and extra help when they come - the first 6 months are hard but then it gets easier

They turned 2 in August!
The only way we survived the first 6 months was taking shifts on the sleepless nights. It is a tough rollercoaster of a journey, but I wouldn't change it for the world.

Re: OMG.... I am having twins!
Congratulations!!!!!!!!!! My older DS was 2.5 when my twin boys were born. The beginning was very difficult, I'm not gonna lie. The main issue for me was caring for the babies, while still giving my son the attention that he needed and deserved. I EBF them from day one and that was probably why I lacked so much time. They were both pretty much nursing around the clock in the beginning so I literally had no time for my son. TV was my best friend, as horrible as that sounds. But ya gotta do what ya gotta do! I still feel guilty about it... I'd say the first month was the hardest. Now they are 3 months and it has gotten SO MUCH BETTER!!! They are still EBF but nursing less frequently and for only 10 minutes at a time. We have finally fallen into a routine which makes the days go by so smoothly. I have someone come to the house 2 mornings a week for a couple of hours to help me out. She comes while my oldest is in a 2yo nursery program... in the 2-3 hours that he is there, I run all of my errands. schedule all my appointments around those times and clean. It makes life soooo much easier bc I don't have to drag the babies out with me and I can actually get things done. I would definitely recommend a mother's helper/babysitter for a couple of mornings a week so you can regroup and get things done! Good Luck!!! If you have any questions, please feel free to FM!

Re: OMG.... I am having twins!
Congrats!!!! Don't feel scared or overwhelmed!!! I am a mother of twins. I have a girl and a boy. They are now 3 months old and it's getting a little bit better. Not gonna lie to you in te begining it was rough..Luckily my wonderful DH was there to help me with the twins while recovered from my C-section. I say do what works best for you! Double Stroller, Pack n play and bassinets! My son is fussy allot and screams allot looking for his pacifier. We got a Brightstarts sway swing and it works wonders. I can put him in there in the afternoon and he will sleep for 2-3 hours. I also recommend swaddle Me. My son loves to be swaddled and it's the only way I can get him to sleep and to stay sleeping. You def want to them on some sort of schedule. My babies are pretty much up all day with little naps here and there. I give them baths and their last bottle and but them down by midnight and then both sleep now till 4:30-5am. Take it one day at a time..at first it may be overwhelming but it does get better. FM me if you have any questions.

Re: OMG.... I am having twins!
We had DS already when we started TTC for our next/last. Got pregnant with identical twins. Although there is a history of twins in my family I never thought I'd have a set.
DS was 2y9m when the girls were born. It was hard in the beginning. Especially since I EBFd them until they were a year. But once I got in my groove and found what worked for us it got easier.
