Re: Nativity sets

Honestly, we have the Fisher Price set which worked out great last year. I put it out in a special place near the the Christmas Tree, and DD knew it had to stay there, but she could play with it in that spot, and we talked about it and who the people were. This year I plan to do the same.

When we lived in an apt, before DD, I had a small Hallmark one from the Hallmark store that was inexpensive.

When the kids are older, I plan to get a nice/expensive one.

I also love the Jim Shore ones...they are about $150

My MIL got us ours as a joint christmas gift for me and hubby. it was our big gift. she asked us what we wanted and we said a nativity bc I could never afford the ones I fall in love with. Maybe you could put a nice one on your christmas list?

Re: Nativity sets

I don't have one (it's on my wish list) but I love the Willow Tree set. So simple and beautiful. There are several different sets so it's easier to start small and then add to it over the years.

I love the Jim Shore nativity sets. I got one as a Xmas gift from my parents a few years ago. I also got the Fisher Price on for DD last year. I recently saw a Charlie Brown one in Hallmark that was adorable but I don't remember how much it was.

I have the Precious Moments Mini Nativity set - it's my favorite. The basic set is very reasonable, and then we've added on pieces over the years. I really love our Nativity.

Kohl's had some nice ones when I was there last night. Not exactly traditional but pretty.

ETA: They were in the $50 range.

Re: Nativity sets

I have the Peanuts one. Super untraditional, but I love the Peanuts and their Christmas special is really one of the only ones (or maybe the only one) that speaks about the real meaning of Christmas. Love them. I can't imagine that this would be more than $25-ish. Also, since it's plastic, my three cats can't break it when they knock pieces off the shelf. Bonus.
