Going back in September
I know I still have plenty of time and was looking forward to actually going back to work in Sept. 2014 after my lovely 2 year maternity but now starting to get worried. My friends are telling me nightmare stories about this common core. I use to spend a lot of time at home planning but now with a 2 year old.. I don't see that happening. Not to mention the fact that everyone is just miserable. Is common core worse in the upper grades or the lower. Opinions?

Going back in September
I can't speak for the lower grades but in middle school common core and APPR are a nightmare.

I think it largely depends on your school, grade level, and subject.
At my school, it is okay, but I teach HS science. I have added more lab reports and information articles.

Going back in September
I'm in the elementary school and it is a nightmare!!! The common core tied to standardized test ties to our evaluations and APPR is overwhelming. I used to love my job now I dread going in.

I was only working for 2 months this school year before going out on leave and it was a rough 2 months!!
