Does your 1 year old
have full dinners every night? I usually try to cook dinner every night for us. But there are nights where all she will eat is a ton of peas. Or only a ton of potatoes. Is this bad when thats all she wants to have? Like last night for example I made a whole dinner and she pushed everything away except the mashed potatoes - so I let her eat whatever she wanted.
Sometimes all she will want is fruit for dinner .. I get worried that shes not getting enough variety but shes gaining weight well and is well above average in height and weight.

I wouldn't worry. My DD was the same way. As long as she had one full meal a day, like a good lunch it was fine!

Okay cool, thank you ... Her absolute favorite is breakfast. She will eat 2 eggs, whole wheat toast and some kind of fruit. But the rest of the day is hit or miss.

My dd is the same way too! The last 2-3 days she wont eat any meat. Just pasta or fruit. Thats it. So I let her have that for dinner or lunch. Last night she had carrots for dinner then banana.
My dd is great with breakfast as well. 1 Egg, whole wheat toast and yogurt or fruit.

DD is pretty good with breakfast and lunch so I try not to worry about dinner. I do offer just meat first, before the DH and I even sit down so she doesn't see what else there is. Then I'll offer veggies and starch after she hopefully has at least a few bites of meat. Some days she barely has anything or begs for yogurt or a pouch so I'll let her have that.

Re: Does your 1 year old
I just try to make sure she gets a variety of foods throughout the week. so even if all she wants the entire day is dairy then the next day i try to get in a mix of veggies and the next fruit and the next grains. I offer each category each day but if shes picky i just offer it the next day until she has some. i feel like you need to look at the entire week, not just the 1 day or the 1 meal...

My kids good on about 2 meals a day... She eats me out of house and home for breakfast. Pretty much skips lunch, but then will eat decently for dinner so I don't worry. For what I've heard, it's ok and is normal at this age.

Mine usually does, but I remember hearing/reading a while back that toddlers really only need 2 full meals a day.

Re: Does your 1 year old
Totally varies from day to day. My 16 month old loves fruits and veggies, so those are a given, but unless pasta with butter is involved, everything else is hit or miss. She loves fresh avocado, so I end up giving her half an avocado almost every night. The other night, she had half an avocado and a cheese stick for dinner, and refused to eat pizza. Last night, she confused me and ate two meatballs, but barely touched the egg noodles.

My 16mo is like this. I stopped even making any sort of meat or chicken because she will not touch it. Usually she gets veggies and a pasta or quinoa/rice. I also try to give her some fruit. Apparently she eats meat and chicken and fish at daycare, so I'm not as worried about dinner.

I thank g-d that my DD is in daycare and with my MIL all week for breakfast and lunch, because I know she eats well for those meals..lol!

Does your 1 year old
DS is a horrible dinner eater. I know he normally gets a snack at my ILs around 4pm so I am sure that contributes to it but he is getting increasingly picky at dinner time. Last night he had a few strawberries and milk. I try not to stress it too much because I know he eats well during the day at least.

Re: Does your 1 year old
depends on his mood. yesterday for lunch he would not have anything. He finally ate a yogurt. For dinner he gobbled up pasta w/ butter sauce and 2 meatballs. I try not to stress about it.
