Twins!
I love twins.. I would love to have them but twins don't run in my family. I know its a lot of work but kids are a lot of work in general. For those that have twins, do they run on your side?!

im a twin :) my maternal grandfather was an identical twin and my husbands maternal grandfather is a fraternal twin!
eta - identical is not genetic (its actually a mutation  )
and I have heard that fraternal twins do run on the mothers side and skip a generation!

They skip if say your husband's mother had fraternal twins then his DD could have them. Reason being is that they say if a woman has a tendency to drop 2 eggs in a month, it wouldn't matter to her SON, but he can pass the gene or trait onto his DD. But if a woman has fraternal twins and has daughters she can pass it to her daughters.
A Dr. at my girl's ped office (Bilder at Dr. Georges ofc) had fraternal twins and one of her daughters has fraternals also.

I have fraternal twin boys... they were a product of IF treatments and do not run in my family!
My husband is an identical twin and his maternal grandfather is an identical twin. Identicals just happen and can't "run in families", but it's pretty cool that there are 2 sets on his side.

We have lots of twins on both my maternal side and DH's side.
Luckily, it's a perfect explanation for my IVF twins, since I am private about my IVF :D

My grandfather on my mothers side was a fraternal twin (he had a twin sister) and my grandmother on my fathers side was an identical twin. My cousin just has identical twin girls.

We have a few sets of twins in my family too. My grandmother's ( my dad's mom) brothers are identical twins, I also have a set of cousins on my Dad's side that are fraternal twins, and on my mom's side, her sisters (my aunts) are identical twins.

I don't have twins, but my fil was one of 16 children (he was born in Ireland), and there were 3 sets of twins!! All fraternal I believe.

Someone at work tried to use the fact that her DH has twins in his family to explain twins (I'm pretty sure IVF). It only run's on the mom's side (how many eggs your ovaries drop).
In the meanwhile, everyone she was talking to had IVF (me included, so I'm pretty sensitive to "miracle" pregnancies after years of trying & a period of taking off from work). It was kinda funny... watching everyone dance around each other.

My grandfather (Maternal) is an identical twin and Shauns dad is a fraternal twin.
Shauns cousins wife is pregnant with twins... i dont know if they are spontaneous or from Fertility treatments.
There are no other twins in either of our families.
2 of my friends have spontaneous twins as well.

i have twin girls (faternal) from IVF. On my side of the family i have 2 sets of twin cousins and my husband's maternal grandmother had brothers who were twins.

I have fraternal twin boys. I had paternal great aunt twins, never met them! It was a complete shock that we had twins. No fertility treatment just luck. The crazy thing about it is 10 weeks before finding out I was pregnant with twins a friend from my mommy group of five told me she was pregnant with twins (also no IVF) and we all "laughed". 10 weeks later I was no longer laughing
