Fixing Damaged Hair

I had a big time disaster with my usual colorist last week and it has left my hair feeling terrible. I have been trying to grow my hair out and I feel like it is damaged now :(

Is there anything I can do to fix it and et it back to the way it was? Is it a lost cause and should I cut it and start over on growing it out?

I am pretty devastated by the whole thing so any advice is appreciated.

Oh no that is terrible :(. What happened?

I feel like my hair is thinning so bad. I hate it so much :(. I actually get cut it a lot shorter and I have been doing a coconut oil mask weekly. Also cutting down on heat because that gives me breakage!

I feel like it's helping a bit

Re: Fixing Damaged Hair

I tried to go red and it went badly. She had to lighten my hair first and then it turned pink. It was just bad. But now, the color is not my concern. My hair is coarse and when I washed it it kind of retains the water. I am not explaining it well but I used to be able to dry it in like 15 minutes and now I washed it the other day at like 8 in the morning and it was still damp at 6 at night. I feel like the entire texture of my hair changed and I am so upset about it :(

I've never had my hair that badly damaged, but I love the way Fekkai Color Technician balm (pink, in a little jar) makes my hair feel after I get highlights. I have pretty dry hair to begin with and after getting highlights it always feels even drier. This stuff always makes it softer and shinier

let hot water run in your bathtub to get the room steamy. apply the hot oil on dry hair and put on a shower cap ( i use a plastic shopping bag) to trap in the moisture.. i leave it in for lat least an hour. stay as long as u can in the steamy room (15-20 min?)

i leave it in my hair for a few hrs while im doing chores.

when you wash it out, rub shampoo on it before u wet it ( itll strip away the oil faster) sometimes if u just wash your hair, its still greasy.

Fixing Damaged Hair

Give it some time, lots of nourishment and conditioning. Stay away from too much heat or damaging it any further. Maybe a trim but in a few weeks, I bet it feels much better.

Re: Fixing Damaged Hair

I recently started using Kerastase Resistance Ciment Thermique Heat-Activated Reconstructor Milk for Weakened Hair and my hair has never felt better.

It is $$ but the reviews speak for themselves. Highly recommend!
