Endometriosis and Infertility
Hi Ladies and families, I am a 38 y/o with a long history of endo. I have had 2 surgeries and 1 c-section. I lost an ovary and a tube in '06 but had a beautiful healthy baby in '07. E is the best thing that has ever happened to us. Greedily we wanted another and for the past 3 years we have ttc#2 with no luck. We've tried it all (3 RE's, 5 IUI's, 3 IVF's, consults with OON specialists) and now I am considering laying out $$$$$ that could potentially disable us financially for the next 10 years. I know that endo will not kill me but is it worth it to have another surgery with a NYC specialist at this cost? That is my question to you who suffer from endo and IF. You know the daily pain, I want a better life. I need some advice and if any of you have had deep excision laproscopic surgery and are willing to chat about it I would so greatly appreciate your help. I wish each and everyone of us the very best in this journey. Thank you for your time.

Endometriosis and Infertility
I have Endo. I have had 2 laparoscopies to remove it. That was 10 years ago and I have been thinking about having another lap in the near future.
What will it cost you to go to the NYC specialist? When was your last lap? 2006? If that's the case, and the NYC doc will cost you bucket loads, I would go and get a lap done with your regular OB.

Re: Endometriosis and Infertility
I had been trying for 2 years to have my second child. My first was conceived naturally. I had 5 iuis and a failed ivf when I decided that my re was ignoring my concerns of endo. I sought out a specialist in NYC- dr Tamir seckin. I went for a consult and ha surgery 2 months later. Turned out I have stage 4 endo. He removed a lot but some are in areas that will require additional surgeries. 7 months after surgery I sought another re and did a round I ivf. I now 11 weeks pregnant with twins. Dr seckin saved me and helped with the debilitating pains I had. Please fm with any questions!!!!

Re: Endometriosis and Infertility
I'm sorry you're dealing with this. I've had 2 surgeries for Stage IV endo. For the second one, I went to the Center for Endometriosis Care in Atlanta. It was a lot of money because it was out of network, but it was worth it. Although I'm still dealing with infertility thanks to having been misdiagnosed for years while the endo ran rampant, my quality of life has improved drastically. My periods are not as painful, intimacy is not painful, and I just feel better. For me, it was worth the money to go to a specialist. Good luck with whatever you decide. Feel free to message me if you want to chat more.
