How many people for a half sheet cake?
I need a cake for 40 ppl.
Traditional bakeries are telling me half sheet is enough.
According to King Kullen and Bjs bakery, I need a full sheet.
I REALLY don't want leftovers.
I am leaning toward king Kullen bakery. Can I go with the half sheet and just cut them smaller for 40ppl, or is that stretching it too thin? There will be other desserts.

How many people for a half sheet cake?
I don't know about King Kullen's cake size and if they are different from the norm, but normally a half sheet feeds 50 and a full sheet feeds 100. You should be fine with the half sheet.

I think the numbers for Costco and King Kullen might be lower because their cakes are not as high as traditional bakery cakes. (Either the layers are "shorter" or they have less layers - not sure). I thknk you would be fine with the 1/2 from KK

I think that's the difference. I find them to be much shorter than what I would generally make a sheet cake to be. I'd go for the 1/2.
