need all the prayers I can get
Just submitted Aidan's High School applications... We won't find out until early March which HS has accepted him. For anyone in NYC, this is the most grueling/anxiety-ridden process EVER.
I think college applications will be easier...
 that I can stay sane until March.

DD will be enrolling into kindergarten next year (we're in NYC) and last month I got a whole packet on the G&T program and that gave me anxiety

Good luck!!!!
Do yourself a favor and start researching and visiting High Schools when your daughter is in 7th grade and not wait until the beginning of 8th grade like I did....

NYC high school application is more taxing than college. My poor 8th graders. I hate march.

Curious, where did he end up applying?
His 1st choice is the Academy for Careers in Television & Film - no screening process- just a lottery and located in Long Island City, within walking distance from us. BRAND new building.. great program.. looks like fun.
2nd choice - Beacon High School. He has the grades and test scores... His "interview" is on December 10.
3rd choice - Manhattan/Hunter Science High School. same as Beacon except no interview.
4th NYC Museum School
5th- Aviation HS.
Also took the SHSATs for Brooklyn Tech & Stuyvesant.
I also had him take the TACHS... Looking at St. Johns HS in Astoria.

many prayers that he gets in to his first choice!

My cousins went through this not too long ago, and I remember how stressful it can be!!!
ETA: I went to St John's prep before we moved to LI and really liked it. (But we moved 1/2 way through my freshman year, so I didn't go there for very long).
