Does anyone with kids have a glass top coffee table in their livingroom

There is a coffee table I really, REALLY like but I am honestly worried about safety. My kids are 8 and 6.

I would not. I just had a case in my office where an ADULT put his hand through a table like that.

I have a glass top coffee table similar to this one.. click not exactly like yours because mine has a frame but I have had it since the kids were born (they are now 3 & 1) and it's been fine.

I tell them no banging on it. .my little one does try to climb it every now & then but I just pull him off & use my "angry voice" so he knows I'm serious & it works I've never even baby proofed the corners & it's been totally fine. Your kids are older so I think they will understand not to be rough.

I do. My kids are 8.5 and 10 and constantly have their friends over. It's never been a problem.

Yes. It's glass, surrounded by a wood frame though. My kids are 7 and 4 but we have had it since they were babies. We only had one "incident" where my daughter dropped a large rock (class project) on it and it shattered in a million pieces. We replaced the glass top and now they know to be more careful.

We don't have kids but we have a three 'window' glass top coffee table with wood frame, and EVERY SINGLE time kids come over they love crawling on top of it, banging on it, you name it. And the parents don't stop them either! I have to speak up when I see it. It's not like I can hide the table either

replace the glass on it with plexiglass while the kids are young. save the glass for when they are older. a friend of mine did that with her coffee table.

We have a glass coffee table and my boys are 5,4, and 2 months. So far no issues. We try to not let them play in the living room to often.

I had a glass dining table and got rid of it once DD began to toddle.

We have a glass center in our coffee table, both in our den and our living room - no issues and the kids are 7, 5 and 1. I will say though that in looking at the table you posted, I would be more concerned about the sharp corners and metal - I see someone tripping and smashing their head on it.

Ours have a few inches of wood around the glass part and we have had a few banged heads :)

DS will be four in January. Have had a glass coffee table since before he was born.

I do and honestly it's never been a problem. When she was really young I wrapped the edges with pool noodles.

She's pretty careful with it, surprisingly. The only peeve I have is glass gets dirty so easily, especially with kids. I literally have to clean it almost every day or it looks horrible.

We don't but my parents do and I hate it, I keep my kids far away from it.

That table looks like an accident waiting to happen--with sharp corners and a glass top.

However your kids are a little older and won't be trying to climb in it or slam toys down on it.

We do and haven't had any issues, but it is round.

Yes, I've had it since the kids were 2 and 3.

They are now 6 and 7 and haven't had any issues.
