Pottery Barn Furniture (vent/question)
We've registered for our cribs (2) + double dresser + chest + accessories/bedding at PBK.
Mom has amazingly offered to purchase the furniture for the babies room, and yesterday's visit was an utter nightmare. I literally left on the verge of tears and a breakdown.
The cribs are on sale ($100 off on each) - but have a $100 delivery surcharge.
The double dresser & chest are $749 each + $100 delivery surcharge.
On top of all that, there's another delivery charge (in home) and w/assembly (I believe it's $100).
In the end, the two cribs + dresser + chest came out to $3K w/delivery + tax, and I have a 10% discount b/c it's on my registry. Mom was really baffled by the price of the dresser/chest, and the delivery fees.
Does anyone have any advice on similar styles of furniture of equal/better quality but a bit more "price friendly?" I think she's really more upset about the absurd delivery fees/surcharges too!
I checked out Behr's and Bellini and honestly, it was a bit more expensive. Mom is on the verge of getting the cribs from PB but going to Bob's Discount for the dresser, and I don't want to mix the furniture.

Have you checked any of the BBB stores? Our furniture is all coming from BBB. We were able to use a 20% coupon on each item, effectively saving about $400 and there's only a single delivery/assembly fee for all pieces, instead of one for each. After all was said and done, a crib, 5 drawer dresser, double dresser and hutch came to about $2K.

My furniture is from BRU. Crib plus dresser will come out to no more than $700 plus free shipping and DH will put it all together with a friend.

That's ridiculous. I got all our nursery furniture from jc Penney online for less than $900, no shipping fee.
Pics are in album. 3 yrs later, it's held up just fine.

PB always has ridiculous deliver and shipping on everything. I originally looked at them because a lot of our furniture is from there. For the money, it didnt rate high on baby bargains. But what can you do. They always charge shipping and extra setup. BBB only charged $100 to deliver and set up. It depends on the store and where you live.

I had registered for a really nice set at BBB, and then bought it from Bambi Baby.. It's a store in NJ but they deliver. We were able to get the same price as BBB with the 20% off coupon, and they delivered much quicker. BBB said it wouldn't be ready to deliver for 16 weeks! Also I don't think you can use the BBB 20% off couppn on furniture....

We got our furniture there and had a great experience.
We got the Westwood line which is highly rated by Baby Bargains. We got a tall dresser, a long dresser and a crib for about $1,200 after coupons and then $75 delivery and $25 assembly. There was a small issue with one piece (that nobody would have seen) so they waived delivery and gave an extra percentage off the piece that had the mark (we wouldn't have even seen it, the delivery people pointed it out).

You can use the Buy Buy Baby Coupons but, not the Bed Bath and Beyond Coupons.
You are able to apply coupons up until the items are delivered - so if you order three pieces and only have 2 coupons, if you receive another coupon you can apply it after the fact.

have you tried in store pickup? we were able to save on delivery charges that way. also, if you call (after you placed the order) and ask for a discount

Thanks so much ladies!
I did some searching online this weekend, and found a beautiful set at BRU that I love and that saves Mom a bunch of $$$! Was able to get a 15% discount on the furniture, one shipping fee (free!) and an additional coupon!

This is the same set we're getting! We got it all from BBB and they let us use a 20% coupon on each item. They said up to 16 weeks for delivery, but it's coming this weekend and we ordered it in October

We bought a crib from PBK 3 years ago and it's still going strong (converted to a toddler bed last year). We bought ours on a random day when they were having free shipping on everything.
