Night time schedule
Baby girl is almost a month old and I figure it's good to maybe start getting a routine together for her for bedtime.
What does everyone do? Lotion, reading, singing etc? I'm curious of everyone's routine and what you find works. TIA!

Night time schedule
On no bath night.
Take her to her room. Turn on white noise machine. Close blinds. Turn lights off expect for small lamp. Change diaper, lotion (Aquaphor massage), pajamas. Next sit with her in the rocker/glider and read as many books as she will tolerate. Once she gets fussy it's time for the bottle. Turn off the lamp and now just have a nightlight. Has her bottle and then to the crib and she is out.
On bath night it's the same except bath before all of that.

About 7pm, but let your baby lead you on this. Dd is done for the day by 730pm.

For us too, there's no way I could have gotten into a real routine with him yet. Even now it's hard at almost 4 months, he fights it. But if your baby is receptive to it, I think a routine is a good thing.

Night time schedule
I kinda just wanna see what everyone does to get ideas. I don't go back to work for another 6 weeks but I figure it can't hurt to get a bathing, lotioning schedule down now if I can right? I mean I know it's not gonna happen over night but I want to start letting her know it's night time rather than day. Her day and nights are off as I know this is normal but I figure it can't hurt...

I get wanting to get a schedule but IMO no baby is the same. Even if you have 2 kids.....they won't be the same. I never once tried a schedule with my ds. It changes daily due to our crazy schedule with work and other things. Because if this my ds is super flexible. He sleeps anywhere, eats anywhere.
My theory is don't try to be too rigid with a schedule cause it just my backfire when you needs to go out and do things.

Night time schedule
You don't have to stick to a schedule as far as times, but when DC is getting sleepy, start the routine. For DS, I started reading him books at night. He got the same 4 books from when I was about 25 weeks pregnant. I recited them in the hospital and it became our thing. When he was a month old, we rocked in his chair in his room and read the 4 books even when he wasn't sleeping in there. Now when he looks tired (7-7:30), we say goodnight to daddy (if he's home), go upstairs, read the 4 books, get his monster (stuffed animal), turn on his soother and monitor, I put him down, tell him I love him and walk out of the room. It's not much of a schedule, but it works for us. He definitely knows when it's bedtime!

At 1 month old, I think the schedule/routine is more for mommy than baby.
