First Time Grandparents- What will they need?

My parents are soon to be first time grandparents! The baby bargain books has cheaper models of quality products for grandparents to buy - I was thinking thermometer, high chair, monitor and pack n play. Does this sound good? Also I know car seat but since DH and I have to get 2 we plan to just transfer when needed and perhaps get my parents a base.

My mom might get a base since she will be watching the baby for the summer but otherwise I think we're just going to bring whatever we need with us when we visit. I don't think we'll be getting anything extra unless they want to get it themselves.

We have each set of grandparents house: a pack and play, exersaucer, high chair, toys, sippy cups and carseat.

Will the grandparents have the baby often?
My mom watches dd daily and doesn't have a monitor - we bring ours over if she spends the night but during the day naps she manages without (she lives in a 2 bedroom apt though so it's all on the same level)
Having dd daily my mom has everything - pack n play, car seat base, toys, clothing, first aid/grooming kit and medicine, exersaucer high chair
Mil who does not see dd daily has nothing - we pack what we need when we visit

I didn't think of an exersaucer - I guess that's something I can get a little later on though!

At first, my mom just had a pack and play and a car seat. And then eventually got a real crib. Other than that, just diapers and wipes and toys. I always keep a foldable travel high chair and stroller in the car, so we always had these items with us.

My parents have a rocker chair, pack and play, swing, high chair, car seat and base and toys.

Bouncy seat? Or you can do a travel swing, not exclusively for their house, but it is just good to have in general to bring places.

pack n play, box of diapers/wipes, and baby bathtub.

Def a pack & play and portable high chair! I don't think a thermostat is necessary (I never had one in my own house though). Maybe a portable swing or infant seat too.

A monitor is a good idea, and later on, a safety set with the cabinet locks and outlet protectors.

My MIL watches our DD, so this is what they have that they purchased.
1. Highchair
2. Crib

My brother was done having kids, so he gave us a:
1. Pack n play (she put the baby in it when she needed to run upstairs or outside during the day since she has dogs)
2. Infant car seat and its base
3. Swing

From the Buy/Sell thread on the Parenting board, I purchased for them:
1. Exersaucer

I went out and purchased for her:
1. Booster seat for when she was out of the high chair
2. Monitor (Sony set)
3. Baby food as needed during that time of development

Over the years, she has acquired toys from various neighbors and family friends, so DD has a set of activities to play with there that are different than what she has at home.

Depends on how much they will have the baby. My MIL watches DS at here house 1 day so she bought one of everything.

My FIL watches DS one day at our house and only occasionally at his so he didn't get anything. Has a PnP from other grandchild and some toys but that is it. We send him with everything he needs.
