Ugh, where to have DS bday
His bday is on 12/30. I was originally planning on doing it next week, but time has crept up on me and I didn't get around to planning, so I am thinking of having it the week after New Years (did this last year). Think after the holidays is better too.
I am not sure where to have it though.
He had it at Bounce U last year.
This year he mentioned the Long Island Children's Museum but my SIL just started working there recently and I suspect she is planning her own children's bday there shortly.......don't want to step on her toes.
I also am planning to invite the class so I don't want a super expensive place (I expect at least 20-25 kids to show with cousins and family friends too).
He is a super-active 5 year-old.
We are on the SS/Western Suffolk. Can you recommend some places?
I am also open to doing it during the week around 5 or 6 to cut costs.

Re: Ugh, where to have DS bday
I am trying to figure out the same! DS turns 6 on 12/29, we've decided to have his party early January...but where???
Between him and my other kids, we've had parties at ChuckECheese, Bounce, Gokarts in Ronkonkoma, Sports Arena in St. James. All fun, but looking for something different. We are also on a much tighter budget than in the past...
I am looking and pricing:
Movie at Elwood or Port Jeff theatre Bowling party Smothtown or Commack New Lego play place in Nesconset McDonalds in Centereach
McDonalds was his idea...the Centereach one has a big play area. It totally skeeves me, but it's his "favorite place in the entire world".
Let me know what you come up with and I'll do the same...

Re: Ugh, where to have DS bday
DS had his 5th at Kzam in Farmingdale. I thought it was quite expensive but the party was perfect. Kids had a blast, got to get their energy out, do a dance type thing and pizza/ big carvel ice cream cake. We were very happy there. I'm sure they'd be cheaper during the week.
I'm actually going to look into doing it at Big Al's this year. Not exactly sure what's included but may be cool.

Thanks ladies.
I mentioned Big Al's to DH but he feels like a lot of the kids are still too young for that.
I am going to check out some of the places mentioned.

Re: Ugh, where to have DS bday
What about a gymnastics party? We had ds 5 bday at a gymnastics place in Hicksville and two other people at the party booked parties there!

Re: Ugh, where to have DS bday
Thanks again ladies.
I decided to go with KZAM and actually booked it for the day after Christmas since I know family will all be around that day.
He's inviting his class too but I am sure that not everyone will be able to make it on that particular date, so that may help with cutting down costs.
Looks like a fun place and what I was looking for.

I'm sure it will be awesome. DS still talks about his party there all the time.
