Good chapter books that incororate nonfiction (like magic treehouse)?
DS just discovered magic treehouse books - one of his friends told him about them and he LOVES reading them. He loves nonfiction books in general so this is like a really good combo - he reads the nonfiction one and then the fiction counterpart. Anyway, was just wondering if anyone had any other suggestions as to other books like this? I wish we knew about these sooner! I will say that some of them are a little scary/mature for him so nothing on that end if possible. Thanks in advance!
ETA: DS is 6 and in first grade but, reads above level so books around the same level as magic tree house would be perfect or slightly below that level would be great. Nothing significantly harder at this point. THANKS!

What about Magic School Bus? My DDs (1st and 3rd grade) love those!
My son is also in first grade and although we dont read these at home, he says he reads them in school during individual reading time.
ETA: WE also get Cam Jansen books from the library sometimes and my brother just gave him captain underpants (but we havent read them yet)

Thanks ladies! He likes Magic School Bus books as well! Good thing there are a lot of these magic tree house books they will take him a while to get through!

It's not historical, but DC loves Nate the Great and it's another series with many books.
