Dormer King, Larsen, Tim White, George Parsons
Anyone have experience with any of these companies? We are doing a huge job with a double dormer, building over the garage, knocking down walls downstairs and building a porch.
We've had meetings with Larsen, Dormer King and Tim White and we are meeting with George Parson next week.
We are looking for quality, reasonableness in price and someone that will work fast and clean.

a family member is friends with Dormer King's owner
Here is what i know!
He has been in business for a long time, his work looks really nice and he's a good guy! :)

I did a full dormer with Larsen. Whatever you do, do not let them give you James as your project manager! He caused us lots of aggravation and was very unprofessional. Otherwise we were mostly satisfied with their work.

We used George Parsons for our siding and had no issues.

Tim White did the renovation on a home I purchased after Sandy. Apparently, they began the work and never completed it so the previous owners had to have another company come in to finish.

No. The previous owners paid in full from the start. The house was damaged from Sandy and they had put in the work order on Nov. 4th. So honestly they were pretty quick to start this. First house on the block. The neighbors said they got in right away and began the work but they never came back about midway thru. Mind you the previous owners were in their 80's. I think it all went down pretty quickly because the neighbors made the comment that Tim White lost a ton of business since they would have used them too if they had done right by the owners.

That's insane- when I spoke to them, they said that we would pay in increments as we went along, the remainder of the money being paid on completion. But thank you for sharing - that is horrible.

We just finished up a dormer/expansion with dormer king. DH decided to use him because they knew the family. Unfortunately, we are very unsatisfied with the inside work. It's a shame because we spent a lot of money and they really did a crappy job. FM Me for more details.
