Expecting and in shock...
Hey girls... I've rarely posted but i don't know where else to go. LIW always felt safe and like home.. You girls were always the best so why not try LIF!
For the past year DH and I were TTC with no avail. Went to DR, had every test imaginable done to find out DH had low morphology. After a few attempts of IUI we began to consider IVF. We found out his insurance would cover it, so we signed up, paid, and were ready to pay 5k out of pocket come january.....
Dec 1st I find out I'm pregnant! ( insane right?) after all this time it finally happened on our own.. Im still in shock and I'm PETRIFIED!!!!!!!!! This is obviously my first and i don't know whats normal and whats not. Every twinge and ache i feel i panic. I don't want to get too excited because i feel like i might set myself up for disappointment. DH is over the moon and doesn't understand why I don't feel the same way. Right now it still feels to Surreal to me.
We went to the OB today and had the first U/S. I'm just about 6 weeks and we saw and heard a heartbeat. Dr wants me to come back in 2 weeks to get a better look because right now it looks like a blueberry. lol
Anyway I'm just looking for some sort of solace in knowing that I'm not crazy to feel this way. You hear so many stories of something happening and I just don't want to get my hopes up.

Expecting and in shock...
You are not crazy! It literally did not feel real until yesterday at 21 weeks when we found out the sex. I am still nervous pretty much 24/7!
Congrats!

You are not crazy. And I had the same thing going where I was super worried, and DH just didn't get it. Heartbeat is a good sign.

Expecting and in shock...
Congrats!! Sometimes it really does happen when you least expect it. DH and i tried for 2 1/2 years and were going to see an RE after AF was scheduled to arrive.... but she never did. To say I was shocked is an understatement lol. Now at 27.5 weeks pg, she's my little wiggle worm and it feels more and more real every single day. Your nerves will never completely settle but they do subside a bit. Enjoy every moment of it!

Expecting and in shock...
Congrats. I had a similar story. We were trying for 2 years had a few IUIs and was ready to go to IVF and bam I got pg on my own.
My ds is now 2. I was scared the entire pregnancy because how could it happen on its own when it didn't even happen with iuis
Just take it day by day.

You're not crazy at all. As soon as we get that BFP, we become mommies, and the worry begins.

Re: Expecting and in shock...
Congrats and welcome!!!!!! Something similar happened to us. I was diagnosed with PCOS and went the RE route. Did their full workup, which included a gazillion very invasive and uncomfortable tests. Didn't get my period for like 3 months before that and the Dr. prescribed Provera to bring it on and a low dose of Metformin to regulate the PCOS a bit. He said try one month to see if you even manage to ovulate. Got our BFP during that first try. I was also diagnosed with a bunch of blood clotting factors and became high risk right away so I was a ball of nerves the ENTIRE pregnancy! My hubby hated the whole experience because of my neurosis and was mad at me everytime he saw me googling and posting about yet another cramp/ pull/ tug/ fart/ anything...
It does get so much better once you're out of the first trimester and then even better once you start feeling the baby. There will be bumps along the way and more nerves here and there but just take it one day at a ime ad focus on the positive like prenatal yoga, belly shots, maternity shots, registry, shower planning, etc. and that really takes the edge off!

Congrats!!!!!! Definitely not crazy! I'm 32 1/2 weeks and sometimes it STILL doesn't feel real! That is until I look in the mirror or the baby starts moving around, lol.

Expecting and in shock...
as someone who went thru meds, IUIs and 2 IVFs I can totally relate. Honestly tho just keep thinking positive. Its very hard, I know. I am the same way at 14 weeks its still feels completely unreal. I keep fantasizing about buying an U/S machine so I can keep tabs on the baby LOL As a friend said, that even w/o having fertility issues anything and everything can happen - u cant control that, but what u can control is just being happy right now. CONGRATS!!!!

Re: Expecting and in shock...
The same thing happened to me. I was waiting for AF to arrive to start an IVF cycle and BAM - BFP! I have no advice on relaxing, because I was a nervous wreck for most of the pregnancy. Just take it slow, and listen to your body. If something doesn't feel right, call your doctor.
Congrats!!!! H&H 9 months to you!

Re: Expecting and in shock...
You're not crazy at all! I was so scared in the beginning of every little twinge or cramp, not having morning sickness soon enough, everything! DH didn't understand, either. It's much different for guys than for us ladies. I felt like a mama bear as soon as the test came back positive. It was different for him because he couldn't feel it or see a bump. It is a scary, beautiful thing! Just do your best to have faith in your body and in your baby. Wishing you a happy and healthy nine months!!!!!!!
