My dd is only 6 months but she has caught every cold I have had. It's impossible for me not to go near her. If I had the flu or something I would have to figure out how to have family or dh stay home and take over.

Yea I try my best. Last week I was very sick with strep. Dd went to daycare and DH cared for her when she came home. I locked my bedroom door and stayed put until I had a few doses of antibiotics in me

I'm a SAHM too, so I can't stay away. When I have a cold or am sick (which luckily happens very rarely) I do try to avoid kissing her, but I can't stay away. I was EBF the first year, and DD never caught my cold...probably bc she was already getting the antibodies through the milk. Now that she's 2, it seems she has the cold first, and then I catch it. I don't think you need to stay away, just avoid kissing, touching her face and wash your hands frequently.

Like PP mentioned, if I ever caught the flu or something more contagious/serious, I'd have to make other arrangements bc I wouldn't want to risk it.

depends on what it is. I had a stomach virus, so I stayed locked in the room ad DH kept DS busy. When i have a cold, etc no . DS goes to daycare though - i think i usually get sick from him!!

Hopefully I only get sick on the weekends when DH can help. LOL

I actually had a stomach virus last week so DH had the boys all day and let me rest. I felt a little better Monday. DH went to work late Monday for me just to put DS1 on the school bus. WHen DS2 napped I ate, cleaned the house, showered, wiped everything down and washed bedding. Thank goodness no one got sick.

I usually try to stay away, but it is hard. I do my best not to let them hang on me and I won't breathe right on them. I spray everything with Lysol and open the windows when I can to let the germs out.

No, it's pretty much impossible. Last time I was sick (for four weeks!), I loaded her up on Airborne and, knock on wood, she didn't get sick. My DH was sick too during that time. I swear by that stuff.

No, although thankfully neither of us get sick often. She drinks out of my water bottle all the time so by the time I'm sick I figure she's already shared my germs. I've had maybe two colds since she was born and she had one cold and one virus but we've never been sick at the same time.

Depends what I have. Colds no..just wash really we'll try not to cough around them. Stomach bug yes. I asked my mom to help and DH to come home a little early to put them to bed. It did keep it from spreading through the whole house. But with normal virus's we do air hugs and kisses and lots of hand washing. Usually I catch it from them so giving it is less of a concern.

I dont get sick that often, other than colds. So no. I don't avoid her. She's 5. She knows to wash her hands, dont touch her eyes and nose, toss every tissue. She rarely gets sick these days either.

When she was a baby, I'd go into another room as I cough, sneeze a LOT and it would startle her or keep her awake.

Just wash wash wash.

Our house doesn't pass around sick. Only time we did was when we got that swine flu stuff but nothing too worrisome. Eat well, exercise, wash your, cough your mouth when you sneeze and cough, don't touch others who are sick and just basically always wash your hand and face when you can.

I was a SAHM up until 2 months ago, and now I am a PTWM, so it's hard. If it is just a cold, I do what I have to do but try to not kiss them. If it is something like strep, bronchitis, the flu, etc., I have been lucky enough to have my inlaws take them for the day, and DH will take care of them at night.

Keep washing your hands. I am nursing so I nursed more so she got the antibodies. She didn't get end up getting as sick as I was. Just a little cold.
