I know i'm full of questions today I'm sorry!

The nurse told me to give myself the trigger shot between 11p- 12a tonight for my IUI thursday at 8:30. I asked her if that was too early to trigger myself because i've read that you could ovulate 12 hours after the injection. She said no not in my case because I'm not surging yet so it will take me at least between 24-36 hours to ovulate. Is this how you girls usually do it?

I was always given an exact time NOT a range, but I only did IVF.

I have never heard of someone ovulating 12 hours after the shot. The IF clinics time everything and have done it thousands of times so I would not worry - they know what they are doing.

Good luck!

Re: I know i'm full of questions today I'm sorry!

She originally said 11p but then she said I know that it's a little hard tonight because it's christmas eve so as long as you get it in within that 1 hour. I guess thats why she gave me a range. But I'm going to stick to 11p anway. Luckily i'm home, I'm having family over so I could just sneak into a room and inject myself and no one will know anything.

O is usually closer to 40 hours after trigger. IVF retrievals are always scheduled 36 hours after retrieval. If people Oed at 12 hours they'd miss the eggs. Which never happens.
