Follistim question...
Does anyone know roughly how much follistim is typically needed to do a round of 10 stimming for IVF? I have access to 5400 IU of follistim but have no idea how much that will cover.... Any info is much appreciated....
Thanks ladies!!

Follistim question...
Depends on your response. I was usually on 150 units for about 7-9 days - I respond very well to meds. If you are poor responder, you will need to be on a higher dosage.

Re: Follistim question...
Everyone is different and it's really hard to predict if you'll respond quickly or need more time. For me, that would have been enough, but I responded very quickly.

Re: Follistim question...
It really is hard to say. All depends in your specific protocol. For me, I needed 450 of Gonal (same as follistim) every day for 14 days. You have to find out from your dr what the plan is for you and go from there.

Re: Follistim question...
ok....so basically even on a higher end dose (i'm going to guess that I need a higher dose since I am a larger person and didn't respond too well to clomid) the 5400 units still accounts for the majority of the meds needed...
I am trying to decided if buying the difference I need in follistim is cheaper then going with the cheaper med (Bravera) for an entire cycle. I'm thinking the follistim is the better choice...
Thanks ladies!

Re: Follistim question...
If it helps, I have extra Follistim which I plan to donate soon if you need it. I have 3 unopened packages with 900 IUs each.

Re: Follistim question...
It really depends on the dose your dr feels is right for you. I was on 225 for 4 days, 150, then 100, then 125 until the end.

Neither has much to do with what dose you're one, just so you know.

I agree with pp. size doesn't matter. Clomid wasn't working for me, but gonal (follistim) 8 days of 150 gave me 6-8 mature follies each cycle (for an iui)
