What to do
I have a dance school where I am the only teacher. I hate taking sick days and have probably taken 3 in the past 7 years. I had to cancel classes today because I felt awful and I've been running a fever since yesterday. I went to the Dr. and was diagnosed with the flu. The Dr. told me not to work tomorrow. Would you rather your child's teacher fight through it, or just cancel? I have sick days built in to my year, but I always feel guilty to use the days.
Edited- I will be canceling classes tomorrow. I'm off on Fridays so hopefully I'll be feeling much better by the weekend after a couple days of rest.

Re: What to do
I would rather you cancel than chance getting the students sick. Also if you rest you will recover faster

This! You need the time to rest and take care of yourself. Don't use the little energy you have to go to work only to prolong your illness. Plus, you're doing the kids a favor from staying away.
Feel better! Load up on meds, get sleep and watch lots of movies in bed drinking plenty of fluids.

This, if I found out my child's teacher was teaching w/ the flu, I'd keep her home.
Feel better and get some rest!

Re: What to do
I would not want dd in a class where the teacher was sick. I would be more annoyed by that than if it was cancelled.

Re: What to do
Cancel. I would not be happy if my child's teacher came in with the flu. A cold ok but not the flu. You might cough in the room and give it to the whole class. I am sure a patent would understand.

Good thinking! I would rather my child's teaching cancel then teach and possibly get my child sick.
Feel Better!
