Re: Smithtown SD
Check Newsday.com
They rate very well and the stats on Newsday and other sites that rate districts based on scoring, graduation rates, percentage attending four year colleges, etc. will outline all of that for you.

You can also check out my Facebook page "Christine Braun Real Estate" and use the "School Reports" tab (you have to click on the arrow to expand the tabs to see it) to get info on any school district you are considering. Don't forget to like my page to get the latest real estate info, as well as recipes, home decorating ideas, local news and events of interest, etc.

Re: Smithtown SD
I don't think you can go wrong in either of those school districts! We are in Smithtown my Ds is in first grade and I am very happy with his school and teacher. We know kids currently in high school west and a few recent grads no one has anything bad to say....

Re: Smithtown SD
We live there. My daughter is in K so I don't have too much experience with the schools but so far we are very happy.

I grew up in the Smithtown SD. schools were (and still are) great. I was happy with my experience and the fact that they are back to 2 high schools now is very good so there won't be huge graduating classes anymore

Looks like we are going back to 1 high school, at least that's what I keep hearing at both meetings and from teachers.

Re: Smithtown SD
We moved here a year ago and have a daughter in kindergarten. No complaints so far. Good luck!

That's what I keep hearing and it seems to make sense given the population decreases in the district. Last year we closed an elementary school.
