The Engleside Inn looks nice, I was looking into it last year. Also the Sea Shell

Both are OK. I don;t think there are any 5 star hotels on LBI. They are all typical beach hotels, basic rooms and a pool.
Depending on how long you are going I would look to rent a place or look a the guest houses, B &Bs.

I don't think there are any 5 star hotels anywhere at the Jersey shore. Those two looked to be the nicest out of the bunch. Most were run down and haven't been remodeled since they opened 50 years ago

LBI where to stay
Beach Haven is my favorite part of LBI.
We have had friends who have stayed at the Shell and enjoyed it. There is a popular bar there so they have live music and a bar crowd.
We usually stay at a friend's house but, we rented one summer through Prudential Zack Realty and had a good experience.

Agreed. We always rented a house- they were pricey but if you get a good sized group going it's worth it.

The sea shell can get a bit nuts with the poolside bar there. Not a place where I would stay with kids.
I used to hang out there in my younger days.
