Birth control and headaches
Anyone get headaches when on the pill? I'm on my 3rd month of the pill and keep getting headaches. I have had this headache for 4 days now! I am switching pills but still have 8 days left of this one. Does changing pills help?? I want to just stop taking it but with 2 under 2 I'm afraid!

Re: Birth control and headaches
I was always fine on bc until I went back on it after dd was born. I tried two different packs, one of which was an ultra low pill. Both gave me debilitating headaches and I also began to have signs of anxiety. I was ready to see a therapist when I decided to go a month pill-free. I felt a zillion times better after that, and haven't gone back on one since.

Re: Birth control and headaches
I too had debilitating migraines. I am on Lo Lo Estrin and (per dr) skip the last 4 pills if each pack so I am on constant hormones and do not get a period. This (right now) has been the best option for me to try and avoid migraines. They're not gone 100% but the frequency has decreased.
As a PP stated I too have increased anxiety, my ob/gyn 's office (one of the nurses) said "not likely that it's the pill". I begged to differ but didn't complain - as I was in process of changing drs.
DH has been talking about getting snipped so I can be off the pill and not have to worry about migraines all together.

Re: Birth control and headaches
I would get migraines all the time on the pill. I went off the pill a few months ago (got paraguard iud) and haven't had a single one since :)
I contribute the mnigraines to the pill and hormones..but thats just me.

i used to get headaches while on the pill - i switched pills until i found one that worked for me (i believe it was loestrin 24 - but i havent taken in it 3 years) i would speak to your doctor - there is no need for you to suffer

Wow, it was the Lo loestrin fe that gave me the anxiety too... Started 2 weeks after I started my first pack, and ended when I stopped it...

Birth control and headaches
Its due to the hormones. I cannot take bc because of the panic and anxiety it causes me.

Re: Birth control and headaches
I'm starting the generic of loestrin 24 fe when I'm done with this pack. Headache is a little better today but still there. I had the same thing when I was on bc before having babies. I think we may need to find another method of bc! I don't think we are done having babies yet so I don't want to do anything permanent.

U can try a lower dose of hormones, ask ur gyn, lo lo estrogen is ok I took that for a month. Also if u want to go hormone free you might want to consider the IUD paragard, for 10 years w.o hormones n u can remove it w.e u want too!
