Miss Debbie's in Plainview
Looking for some info from anyone who has a LO at Miss Debbie's. Do they follow a school calendar? Are you closed for all the school vacations? Is it true that you pay for the summer, even if you pull them out? I tried calling but I think they are closed today.

It seems many daycares are having you pay/attend for at least some part of the summer now in order to hold your place...I don't think they close for all school vacations, I have a couple of friends whose children attend and there are times I know mom is off and the kids can go in...they are likely closed today because they likely follow the local school district in terms of snow closures...you can FM if you want me to ask my friend questions..

Yup, they are closed today.
My kids go there and we love it! They follow the school calendar year. And since they occupy a building on Plainview's school property they adhere to a lot of Plainview's vacation schedule. For example, they were closed for MLK Day. Not 100% sure about the summer as my kids went, so we paid. They are closed the last 2 weeks of August so you do need to make other arrangements. And no, I did not pay for those 2 weeks.

Does that mean that the kids are off for a week in February? And another week off in April? I'm concerned about paying for a bunch of weeks that I can't send them in. That's what happened when DS went to Shalom and it got really expensive. We ended up paying for over a month's worth of time that we couldn't send him.

No, it's kind of strange. They seem to do school holidays but not school breaks. For ex, they are closed Presidents' Day but open the rest of the week. They also follow the school district on snow days.

I am beyond happy there. I find the care to be top notch, the administration is very hands on and always aware of what is going on, and the teachers are all so nurturing.
