Anyone else not doing an NT scan?
I do it because I like the extra sono... otherwise I do not additional testing...

Re: Anyone else not doing an NT scan?
I have already had 3 sonos (i'm almost 12 weeks) and have another on Thursday so I'm definitely not needing anymore
I feel like I just don't want unnecessary stress! I'm doing the regular bloodwork though.

I didn't do it with my last pg and I didn't do it with this one. I wouldn't want to deal with a pregnancy full of worry and they produce a lot of false positives on things. I am also an odd one out on this but I limit my sonos to the bare minimum. Sono technology actually heats up the tissue inside your body, who knows what that kind of heat does to a fetus. Sure they claim them to be safe now but what about 10 years from now and we know more about them. There are plenty of things we are told to be safe just to have science show later on that they are not. If it's not necessary, I don't do it.

Thanks for the input!
For the record, my sonos have all been necessary. I have a history of very complicated pregnancies and will need my cervix closely monitored. I know you weren't judging but I just felt the need to add that!

Totally understand and even if they weren't necessary, I still wouldn't judge. Just saying I personally try to limit them when they are not necessary. In your case, sonos are needed for sure. Best of luck with your pregnancy

Re: Anyone else not doing an NT scan?
I did not do it with my first 2 sons. IMO the results could only stress me out sicne it wouldn't make a difference to me regarding the outcome/ The doctor agreed with me. I did it with my 3rd as I was a little older and wanted an extra sonogram :)

Re: Anyone else not doing an NT scan?
I didn't. I have heard of a lot of false positives, and I wouldn't terminate. I just thought it would be stressful. Plus, I am also trying to limit sonos.
I discussed the benefits with my midwife, as well as my feelings on it, and we opted out. I am a special ed. teacher, so I felt like I am pretty prepared for the possibility of a child with special needs, so I didn't need to find out.
But its a personal decision!

Re: Anyone else not doing an NT scan?
I did it with DD, but didn't really know much then. DH and I knew we were going to have an amnio, so it was pointless to have the scan.
I'm skipping it this time. I had the Verifi last week, and I plan to have an amnio. There's no point in having the NT scan since I'm having the other tests.
