Cooking or Restaurant for V-Day?
What are you doing for Valentine's Day? Going out to eat or cooking? I think we are just going to order in from our local restaurant. And you?

Cooking or Restaurant for V-Day?
We will order in. We never go out on Valentines day. The restaurants are always packed. They rush the meal so they can seat the next couple. And then the kitchen is rushing to get the food out and it's a disaster. I know I sound like a Debbie downer. Lol. But it has happened several years. So instead we order in and will go out to eat on a different night.

We're going to order a heart shaped pizza from a local pizzeria. My DD will love it.

Re: Cooking or Restaurant for V-Day?
Last few years, I have cooked at home, but made a special meal, nice wine, fancy desserts. Valentine's Day has been on a weekday for the past few years, so it's been harder to go out -- DH gets home late, need a sitter for DS. Plus, we enjoy cooking at home.
But this year, we are switching it up and going out. It falls on a Friday, and today's my birthday, so we figured we would go out Friday to celebrate both (DS is going to his grandparents' for a sleepover). But we are not going all out - just going to a local restaurant in Bellmore that we've been wanting to try.
I am not a Valentine's Day lover or hater. I think it's nice to do a little something to mark the day, but am just as happy to do it at home versus going out. However, I do enjoy eating out at restaurants, too. But I never have great expectations of having to have the best meal or most romantic experience of my life, so I am usually happy wherever, whatever we do.

This sounds so romantic
To answer the OP, this year we're going out to dinner. Some years we stay in and I cook a nice dinner, but we really haven't gotten out much this year and we could use a nice date night.

We're going to stay in and cook stuffed lobsters, linguini and clams. Home made pizzas the kids can do and I'm baking a heart shaped cake.

Re: Cooking or Restaurant for V-Day?
I love any excuse for chocolate so we'll have v-day dessert with the kids & then once they go to bed we'll order in & eat dinner in the living room (gasp) cozied up on the couch watching a movie. My favorite kind of night now a days!
But our anniversary is right after v-day so we'll go out for that.
