Looking for a job
Where are some places to find a job besides the major sites (Careerbuilder, Monster)? I am pretty sure I am going to lose my job soon so I would like to have other opportunities in the works.
Thanks!

Agree with linkedin. Also indeed. Also, going to a company you want to work for and browsing their openings. I recently did this and got an interview pretty quickly. Good luck!

Indeed.com is a good site. It actually shows jobs posted on other sites like monster, career builder too.

It's also worth it to check out craigslist, depending on your field. That's how I got my current job!

Re: Looking for a job
Networking, honestly.
Don't be afraid to even post a FB status that you need a job.
I know several people who found an opening this way, also through friend of a friend.....
If you are going to use websites be mindful that a lot of places use key word scan on resumes too, so it's like you have to tailor your resume for each job you are applying to.
I also know it can be frowned upon in some places, but I have heard of people finding jobs that old fashioned way too......pounding the pavement and just going into places, asking if they are hiring and could they hand in their resume and fill out an application.
Many of my former employers actually welcomed walk-ins.

I agree with the others - LinkedIn, Indeed and good old fashioned networking. What field are you in? Can you find a recruiter?
