DDs baptism was in the summer, so I put her in a onsie that had a skirt attached to it, so she could be held and passed around at the party without getting too hot. Our party was in our back yard.

left both of my kids in the christening dress for the entire day. They slept for most of the party.

We have a son and it was in December so we did a one-piece velour Ralph Lauren outfit that was an ivory color like his Christening outfit so he still looked like the Christening boy and still looked formal.
They had VERY similar and beautiful outfits for girls though. Check out Ralph Lauren's website but also Macy's and Bloomingdale's has a nice RL section. His stuff is still comfortable and practical but nice looking/formal looking. HTH!

Outfit for after christening?
I had a onesie made with an embroidered cross and attached tutu.
It was similar to this but long sleeves and just the cross. The baptism was in March, so we put white tights on DD too.

I put DD#1 into a pretty pink dress. DD#2, I changed into a pretty ivory 2-piece cotton pants set with lace trim. DS will be changed into a white sweater-knit one piece outfit.

DD one's dress was itchy so I changed her into a simple outfit from babies r us. DD 2 I bought one but never used it. Her dress was so soft. I was just a white carters outfit that said "love" on it.
