How many naps a day does your 9-10 month old take?
I'm curious because DD is starting to take shorter naps and I'm wondering if I should condense them into fewer naps so she will nap longer for each. Thanks!!

DD was taking 2 at that time. She is 12 months old now and usually still takes 2 naps.

Same here. She did 2 one hour naps but dropped to one around 10 months. It took some time but the one hour nap eventually stretched to 2-3 hours.

At daycare she takes 2 30m naps if they are lucky. If she lying on Dh or I and we don't move we can get a good hour or 2 out of her 2x daily. She sleeps great at night but naps are a nightmare.

Re: How many naps a day does your 9-10 month old take?
At home, 2 naps still (about 9:30 and 2pm, each one about 1.5 hrs). In daycare, because she naps on our 45-min. Ride in, she just takes one nap after lunch around noon that lasts about 2 hrs.
She's 14 mos. old now, but was doing this from about 10 mos.

At that age ds was still doing 3 - 1 hr naps. Around 14 months he went down to 2 - 1 hr 15 minute naps, and around 18 months drops to 1 2-3 hr nap.

At that age DS was pretty consistent with his naps: a morning nap (about an hour) and an afternoon nap (2-3 hours)

Re: How many naps a day does your 9-10 month old take?
At 9 months I started to notice that DD wasn't ready for her first nap until later in the day and she also wasnt interested in a second nap anymore. By 10 months she was consistently down to one nap a day.

Re: How many naps a day does your 9-10 month old take?
Thanks everyone! I think DD is definitely ready for only 2 naps a day. She was doing 3- midmorning, early afternoon, late afternoon. Now it seems as if she is pushing back her first nap and then only going down one more time before bed. It's making her bottle times a little out of whack so I have to play with that a little. DS was so predictable with his schedule for sooooo long and I had to force him down to 1 nap at 15-16 months old, so I'm not used to a child dropping naps naturally!

Re: How many naps a day does your 9-10 month old take?
My DD is only 7 1/2 months but she takes 2 naps. Usually about an hour each. Sometimes the morning nap is 1 1/2 hours but on weekends or days school is closed they are much shorter because she is not used to the noise from the other kids. On those days she is asleep before 7. 3 nights she went to bed at 6:40! My older dd was not like that at all. But she sleeps until 6:30-7 the next morning so no complaints!

DS wil be 8 months next week. He takes 2 naps but can probably use a third. If he REALLY needs it we try for that 3rd nap. Otherwise it's around 10-1130 and 2-330. we are in the middle of moving his bedtime up a half hour so these will probably change a half hour earlier since he's eating a little earlier each time too.
