Use of acetaminophen linked to ADHD in pregnancy
As I understood it, it was women who took it for more then one trimester and for an extended amount of time.
Nonetheless it is scary,

Use of acetaminophen linked to ADHD in pregnancy
My SIL who lives in GA (and my nephew just turned a year) has been saying this to me from the beginning.... So Im guessing this study has been around way longer then the news is leading us to believe.

So basically women filled out a survey and this was the conclusion. There's not much science behind it at this point. The article even stated it's a possibility, not a fact.

As of right now, there is a link, but there is not a causal relationship. They need to do many more experiments for this to be proven.
Also when listening to the news yesterday, they said you really need to take into account WHY the person was taking the Tylenol (ie slight headache, aches and pain, fever) - which is the "bigger" risk for the child.

Use of acetaminophen linked to ADHD in pregnancy
I think it's interesting to say the least, and it would deter me from using acetaminophen while pregnant unless absolutely necessary. They didn't say that pregnant women are advised not to take it or that it is dangerous, they're merely stating that there was a link found and further research would be needed to determine if it's causation rather than correlation alone. Imagine if it is determined years later that there was a cause and effect relationship, and the general public found out that they knew earlier that there was some sort of link, but didn't publish it. That wouldn't go over well. So I think it's good to give people a sort of heads up now without saying specifically that it's dangerous.
I think it's always best to stay away from any meds when pregnant unless absolutely 100% necessary. I'm on Zofran and I don't like being on it but I 100% need it in order to function and keep up with my 18 month old, whom I am home with. And I'm sure that pregnant migraine sufferers would say the same about Tylenol - it is probably the only med they can take to feel at least some sort of relief.
