Cheaper Birth Control pills?
I am temporarily going to have a lapse in health care & now my BCP cost $70. Can anyone recommend my options for a cheaper brand or pharmacy, OR how do I research prices, do I just call pharmacies?
TIA!!!!!

Re: Cheaper Birth Control pills?
I heard from my gyno that target pharmacy sells some reasonably priced birth control pills so maybe check that out?

Re: Cheaper Birth Control pills?
Yes you can call pharmacies. Tell them you don't have insurance and are paying out of pocket. The cheapest places are walmart, target, and supermarkets ie Shoprite. They have a list of medications that are $3/30 day supply and $10/90 day supply.
Couple of other ideas: -Talk to your OB, maybe they can give you a few months worth of samples. -Post on the pregnancy/infertility board: I'm sure there might be ppl who have extra packs that they aren't able to use. Also, some ppl have switched pills so they have left overs.
Good luck!
ETA: You could go to Planned Parenthood.

Re: Cheaper Birth Control pills?
Are you on a BC that doesn't have generic? You should switch if you can to generic.
I also get samples from my doctor.

Planned Parenthood. Even being over the highest income level, I was getting brand name pills for 10 dollars a month.

Re: Cheaper Birth Control pills?
Great thank you!
When I had insurance, I actually had to switch to a non-generic inorder to get it free. So when I went to get it filled this month, with no insurance...ugg, I was in for a shock!
So, yes, I plan to find out what generic would be & price out.

Mine were free this month too.. But I know a lot of people were getting them free last year.... They are now free every month..
Try going on the website of the company who makes your pill, sometimes they have coupons. I was paying $48/month before I got the coupon...

Yes, mine started being free I think October or November 2013. I'm sure I read some kind of law passed that was making them free to everyone.

Re: Cheaper Birth Control pills?
My RX plan does not cover birth control. I pay out of pocket and its about $35 for generic, I fill it through Target Pharmacy because i find them to be cheaper than CVS.

Mine were free when I had health insurance. But now I don't. So I'm trying to figure out my options to get them cheaper until we're back with health insurance.
