Parents of children with ADHD (xpost)

Asking for a family member...

10 year old daughter who has shown signs of ADHD and anxiety since she was a little girl. The mother is ready to accept that her daughter may need some form of treatment, but she does not want to medicate her. The daughter has been in therapy for years, but her behavior has become increasingly worse.

Anyone have any success in natural remedies? What, besides medication, has worked for your child?

(posting in parenting too)

Diet (food/sensory)-maybe look into SCD, or GAP Diet, a great sensory OT to assist in ways to help her regulate her anxieties.

I really like the work of Dr. Amen. He has written a lot of books, and has a bunch of youtube videos. (which I have listened to many). He is a neuro-psychiatrist, that is very holistic. His clinic is in LA but I find him to be very informative.

Dr. Dan Siegel, also is an author of a few books and is on youtube. He specializes in adolescence.

I also really love the blog by Angie Voss -OThttp://asensorylife.com/index.html

I replied on your other post about diet, but wanted to add that I've heard that many kids get relief from chiropractic care. Might be something to look into.

I agree with this as well, and wanted to add, that I have heard good things about neuro-feedback and the interactive metrodome
