Showering with blown out hair
I have very curly hair that for the most part with having 2 kids I always keep curly with mouse/gel. I have flat ironed my hair a couple of times, which takes me an hour to do usually around midnight when my kids are sleeping. I wash my hair about 2 to 3 times a week. On the days I dont wash my hair when I shower I feel like it gets frizzy from the hot water. What do you use when you shower but not wash your hair? Would a shower cap work? TIA

Yep, I use a shower cap. I do have to go over it again with the flat iron when I get out of the shower. But that only takes a few minutes.

Re: Showering with blown out hair
I just put it up in a bun, but my hair doesn't frizz. A shower cap would probably work great for you.

if it is getting frizzy put a conditioning cap under the shower cap.

Showering with blown out hair
I use a shower cap, then dry myself off quickly, take off the cap and get out of the bathroom so I'm not hanging out in the steam for too long otherwise it will get frizzy.

Showering with blown out hair
GREAT question! I was just thinking that I need to post something similar while I was showering.
I also have curly hair that I .like to blow out 2 or 3 times a week. I pin it/wrap it at night, but I feel like my scalp sweats while I'm taking a shower.
I do use a shower cap but I found that 2 things help. 1-take a shorter shower and not have the water be so hot 2-use the portable shower head (the one on a hose) and don't wet my head. 3-wear something around the hairline, too.

Showering with blown out hair
I wear my hair in a quick ponytail using like a loose headband and then wear a headband to kind of keep the stragglers from sticking out of the shower cap..I need to touch up, but for the most part, it works

Re: Showering with blown out hair
Thank you everyone for your help. I used a shower cap and it was great, but I think next time I will use a headband for my hairline since I feel like it frizzed just a little. I used bobby pins but they must of came loose. One more question what is a good serum or cream to apply before flat ironing? This is all new to me since I am trying to keep it straight, geling and doing nothing is so much easier! lol

I have tried a lot of serums, creams, etc. And the absolute best is this one: Sedu

I use a plastic cap lined with terry. I keeps everything good except for the pieces right around my face.

Showering with blown out hair
Okay, I tried something tonight and I felt like it worked. I wrapped a towel around my head turban style, tucked the loose end under and used the hand-held shower head. My hair stayed totally dry and I had no frizz.
