how much should my 7week old eat and how often?
Currently my 7week old is eating every 2 1/2 -3 hrs. At night as you can imagine is a night mare. Any suggestions?
I tried holding his hunger by using his pacifier and then falls asleep thru feeding time, I try to wake him up to eat but he will not. Helllllpppp!!

at that age you feed them when they are hungry and as much as they want.

I think at that age DS had 4 oz bottles approx. every 3 hours.

If you're breast feeding, just feed on demand. I'm not sure how many ounces a formula fed baby takes per hour, but I know that BF babies take 1-1.5 ounces per hour.

The book 12 Hours by 12 weeks was really helpful when I tried to get my DC#1 on a schedule. It's a little rigid but I applied the techniques as they fit into my life. It's an easy and quick read too. Good luck!

When they seem hungry. DS was eating 4oz about every 3 hours.

At 7 weeks there's no such thing as sleep friendly (to the parents, at least!). Feed your baby whenever he is hungry. Eventually he will consolidate sleep and go longer stretches at night, but he may still be too young. Wait until 3 months at least.

DD is 8 weeks and EBF and eats every 2-3 hours during the day. At night, she'll go anywhere from 4-7, but it's not a given. Last night she woke up after 3 hours. They're still so young and hard to get on a schedule. I just feed her when she appears hungry.
