Help? Eyeliner advice
I used to use eyeshadow in place of eyeliner but have been using the Smashbox liquid eyeliner pen:
I like it because I feel like the stiffness of the tip gives me more control. But I'm not that good at putting it on, and it takes me a minute to get it right. That's all it takes for it to dry out.
My friend suggested I get a new one, maybe that one was old when I bought it. Now I have two with the same problem, so I apply eyeliner on one eye, then switch to the second one for the other eye.
Does anyone have suggestions on good eyeliners with a tip like this that doesn't dry out and provides good coverage?

I have been really liking the Kat Von D tattoo eyeliner. It stays on all day pretty much (sans primer) and has a really nice tip which does have some flexibility... and it definitely doesn't dry up quickly! Kat Von D Tattoo Eyeliner at Sephora

I use a liquid eyeliner by L'Oreal, it is in a gold tube (like mascara). It isn't a pen, but it has an applicator like that one. I love it.

I have one by Sephora that I like-- not this one exactly, , but one like it that I feel is easy to put on and that I like.

Me too-it's not pen like, but it is easy to apply.
I think maybe the felts tips always dry out like that. With this one I re-dip for the 2nd eye. With the Stila you could also try closing the pen & shaking before you do the 2nd eye.

I find felt tips dry out bc you put them on after your shadow and shadows dry them out

I use the Almay intense I- color eyeliner. It has a felt tip like that, but you dip it is a little pot of the liquid so it doesn't dry up like the pens do.

You know, that could be part of the problem.

Re: Help? Eyeliner advice
How about trying black eyeshadow applied with a moistened eyeliner brush?

Me too.... If you use it, just make sure the cap is on tight after you're done using it... So many of mine dried out!

That's what I did before liquid liner, and I'm doing it on top of it to fill in the gaps where it dries out on me. I don't like it though because I have hooded lids and it winds up rubbing off on my upper lid.

Re: Help? Eyeliner advice
I've used the Stila and Marc Jacobs liquid liners. I'm a little slow about putting it on since I don't have the steadiest hand, but I haven't had a problem with either one drying out. I put it on after I do my eyeshadow.

I use this and love it...I've been wearing eye liner since high school and this is my favorite. Bought this at Ulta $10.00.

Re: Help? Eyeliner advice
I happened to be by Ulta last night - they were out of both the Almay and NYX of course. But I was able to pick up:

So far so good! It goes on so much smoother and I like that I can dip if I need to. But I didn't need to, I had plenty of time with each eye and it didn't dry out. Thanks for the recco
