Hi Full Time Working Parents,

Need any advice and recommendations you have please!!

Where does your child go during school breaks (or school closed holidays)???

Any areas from say Commack - Jericho.

I can't give specific recommendations, as I live in Westchester, but I know that our local Y offers camp programs over school breaks. Maybe you can start there. Also contact your recreation program because I'm pretty sure mine does this too.

I always had a local mom/friend watch my kids during school breaks and summers. Can you ask around?

for now while DS is still young I have him going back to his old daycare.

Thanks for the feedback, so far no luck with other local Moms that are home during the breaks. Was hoping to find maybe a childcare center or something that was open for kids during breaks.

I'll try the YMCA also! Thanks

Near Jericho - liu post, the camp runs a vacation camp. Let me know if you want more info.

The daycare we use is within our district. DS goes to their before/after school program. They also run a summer camp and "fun days" for school vacation days. I send him to the daycare for the day when I have to work and school is closed. (My DD is also in the toddler room there, so it is very convenient.)

I would recommend our place, but we are not located within the area you are looking.

I would suggest contact any Tutor Times or other chains that are located within that area and seeing if they run a similar program.

I am not on LI but my town's rec department coordinates a program with one of the school's gym teachers and they have a program at the school. Maybe your town has something similar.

Are you a member of a FB moms group for your town? There's always moms posting on the ones I am part of looking for kids to babysit. I also 2nd the daycare through the school district if this exists. DS has Pre k at one of ours and they offer before and after care and regular day care.

I'm pretty sure that this question was recently raised on the Commack Moms FB page and everyone recommended the commack JCC on Hauppage Rd. They do before and after care along with care for school holidays and vacations.
